I’m buying a PS3 tomorrow, and would like to know what are some great PS3 games (exclusive or not).
Currently, I already have bought the two games I most look forward to playing on the PS3: Metal Gear Solid 4 (Limited Edition), and an imported Japanese Final Fantasy XIII. I’m also thinking of buying "Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune" bundled with a controller priced at $69.99, though I’m not sure if the game is good or not. Do you guys know of any other good games? Modern Warfare 2 seems most popular atm since FF13 hasn’t released yet in NA and EU, but I think I’ll save that game for another day.
I’m also considering buying the PS3 Blu-Ray Remote and a Dual-Shock 3 Wireless Keypad. Do you guys recommend Sony Playstation 3’s accessories? Or does the Dual-Shock 3 controller justify all of that? Does the Wireless Keypad and Blu-Ray Remote Controller simplify the needs of online chatting and watching movies? Or are these PS3 accessories redundant?
List of Accessories:
Official Bluetooth Headset by Sony (for talking on multiplayer), unless you already have a bluetooth
You can just use a usb keyboard for typing, so don’t waste $50 on the wireless keypad, spend it on a game
The Blu-Ray Remote
If you don’t have a 1080p TV, get one with a surround sound set up if you want to spend that money.
List of Games:
Uncharted 2 and 1.
MAG, innovative game for the PS3, can have 256 players on one map with no lag, I’ve tested it myself, it comes out Tuesday.
Little Big Planet, it’s like mario on steroids.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Killzone 2
Madden 10 (if your into American Football)
Rock Band/ Guitar Hero

I have a ps2 eyetoy and a ps3. This camera works fine in Little Big Planet, burnout paradise and others. I want the people who are saying that the ps2 eyetoy doesn’t work on a ps3 to explain how they are coming to this conclusion. I want them to tell me why my ps2 eyetoy camera ($5 used at Gamestop) works on my ps3, but they are telling others that they wont work togteher.
The reason for this is money. Half the time when a rumor is started (in example your eye toy question…) it is started by the company itself. Why you ask? Its simple if 1000 people hear the eye toy for ps2 doesn’t work for ps3, about 700 will simply buy a new one. 200 will try it anyways and about 100 will attempt to mod it. If the eye toy cost 30 bucks brand new than for every 1000 people that hear this then they make 21000 off of that population.
Hope this answers your question

I can connect my PS3 via the supplied cable with the console, but I needed to buy an optical cable to use also. When I connect my ps3 through the supplied cable, it works fine through the tv and the surround sound. However, when I connect my ps3 through the optical cable to the HDMI, I only get sound.
Can anyone help ?
i had the same problem. it’s slightly different with everything, but this is how it usually works;
1. plug in both cables into the right places in your ps3 and tv.
2. if you are just getting sound when you switch your tv setting to HDMI, go back to your normal settings, and switch your ps3 display settings to HDMI.
3. it should now display video as well as sound
hope that helps
